According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.0 square mile (2.6 km2), all of it land. As of 2010 Aberdeen had a population of 1994. The ethnic and racial makeup of the population was 43.0% non-Hispanic white, 0.1% black, 0.7% Native American, 0.1% Asian, 1.6% non-Hispanic reporting some other race, 1.5% reporting two or more races and 54.1% Hispanic or Latino.
