Alma is a city in Lafayette County, Missouri, United States. The population was 399 at the 2000 census. Bob Mahony is the present mayor. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.78 km2), all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 399 people, 179 households, and 117 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,476.7 people per square mile (570.6/kmē). There were 190 housing units at an average density of 703.2 per square mile (271.7/kmē). The racial makeup of the city was 99.50% White, and 0.50% from two or more races.
