Amazonia is located at 39°53?18?N 94°53?32?W? / ?39.88833°N 94.89222°W? / 39.88833; -94.89222 (39.888362, -94.892177). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.78 km2), all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 277 people, 106 households, and 83 families residing in the village. The population density was 785.1 people per square mile (305.6/kmē). There were 114 housing units at an average density of 323.1 per square mile (125.8/kmē). The racial makeup of the village was 99.28% White, 0.36% African American, and 0.36% from two or more races.
