Amber is a town in Grady County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 490 at the 2000 census. Amber is located at 35°9?35?N 97°52?44?W? / ?35.15972°N 97.87889°W? / 35.15972; -97.87889 (35.159613, -97.878766). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 4.0 square miles (10 km2), all of it land. The Post Office was established in 1903. As of the census of 2000, there were 490 people, 160 households, and 132 families residing in the town. The population density was 124.2 people per square mile (47.9/km²). There were 176 housing units at an average density of 44.6 per square mile (17.2/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 89.18% White, 0.20% African American, 4.90% Native American, 1.22% Pacific Islander, 0.20% from other races, and 4.29% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.04% of the population. There were 160 households out of which 47.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 74.4% were married...
