Andover is a Borough in Sussex County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough population was 606. Andover was incorporated as a borough by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 25, 1904, from portions of Andover Township. Andover is located at 40°59?10?N 74°44?31?W? / ?40.985997°N 74.742015°W? / 40.985997; -74.742015 (40.985997, -74.742015). According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 1.5 square miles (3.9 km2), of which 1.5 square miles (3.9 km2) is land and 0.68% is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 658 people, 261 households, and 180 families residing in the borough. The population density was 451.9 people per square mile (174.0/km2). There were 273 housing units at an average density of 187.5 per square mile (72.2/km2).
