Aquilla is a city located in Hill County in Central Texas located on Farm Road 933 twelve miles southwest of Hillsboro in southwestern Hill County. The population was 136 at the 2000 census. Aquilla is located at 31°51?8?N 97°13?9?W? / ?31.85222°N 97.21917°W? / 31.85222; -97.21917 (31.852112, -97.219104). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.78 km2), all of its land. As of the census of 2000, there were 136 people, 43 households, and 39 families residing in the city. The population density was 488.4 people per square mile (187.5/km²). There were 51 housing units at an average density of 183.1 per square mile (70.3/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 83.82% White, 7.35% Native American, 8.09% from other races, and 0.74% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 11.76% of the population.
