Argyle Township is a civil township of Sanilac County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the township population was 770. Argyle Township was organized in 1872. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.3 square miles (94 km2), of which, 36.3 square miles (94 km2) of it is land and 0.03% is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 770 people, 275 households, and 213 families residing in the township. The population density was 21.2 per square mile (8.2/kmē). There were 326 housing units at an average density of 9.0 per square mile (3.5/kmē). The racial makeup of the township was 97.7% White, 0.4% Native American, 0.3% from other races, and 1.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.8% of the population. There were 275 households out of which 34.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.9% were married couples living together, 10.9% had a female householder with no husband...
