Bairoil is a town in Sweetwater County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 97 at the 2000 census. Bairoil was formed by former sheep rancher Charles M. Bair around 1916. Bair was the first to drill oil in this area and started the Bair Oil Company for which the town was named. The post office was established in 1924 and the town was eventually incorporated in 1980. Bairoil is located at 42°14?23?N 107°33?33?W? / ?42.23972°N 107.55917°W? / 42.23972; -107.55917 (42.239590, -107.559273). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.3 kmē), all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 97 people, 42 households, and 30 families residing in the town. The population density was 109.0 people per square mile (42.1/kmē).
