The population was 1,088 at the 2000 census. It is also the wealthiest community in the county as well. It is part of the Madison Metropolitan Statistical Area. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.4 square miles (3.5 kmē), all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 1,088 people, 396 households, and 298 families residing in the village. The population density was 805.7 people per square mile (311.2/kmē). There were 400 housing units at an average density of 296.2 per square mile (114.4/kmē).
