Fairhaven Township is a civil township of Huron County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,259 at the 2000 census. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 58.0 square miles (150 km2), of which, 21.1 square miles (55 km2) of it is land and 37.0 square miles (96 km2) of it (63.67%) is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 1,259 people, 537 households, and 353 families residing in the township. The population density was 59.7 per square mile (23.1/kmē). There were 770 housing units at an average density of 36.5 per square mile (14.1/kmē). The racial makeup of the township was 98.17% White, 0.32% Native American, 0.24% Asian, 0.79% from other races, and 0.48% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.14% of the population. There were 537 households out of which 29.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.9% were married couples living together, 9.9% had a female householder...
