According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.3 square miles (8.5 km2), all land. As of the census of 2000, there were 1,800 people, 690 households, and 518 families residing in the city. The population density was 536.7 people per square mile (207.5/km²). There were 734 housing units at an average density of 218.8/sq mi (84.6/km²).
