Big Falls is a city in Koochiching County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 236 at the 2010 census. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 6.0 square miles (16 km2), all land. U.S. Route 71 and Minnesota State Highway 6 are two of the main routes in the community. As of the census of 2000, there were 264 people, 134 households, and 73 families residing in the city. The population density was 43.7 people per square mile (16.9/kmē). There were 191 housing units at an average density of 31.6 per square mile (12.2/kmē). The racial makeup of the city was 98.11% White, 0.38% Native American, 0.38% Asian, and 1.14% from two or more races.
