It should not be confused with the other Bogue Chitto, which is an unincorporated area in Lincoln County. Bogue Chitto is located at 32°49?47?N 88°55?12?W? / ?32.82972°N 88.92°W? / 32.82972; -88.92 (32.829842, -88.920118) According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.3 square miles (16.4 km²), of which 6.3 square miles (16.3 km²) are land and 0.04 square mile (0.1 km²) (0.63%) is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 533 people, 160 households, and 127 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 84.6 people per square mile (32.7/km²). There were 169 housing units at an average density of 26.8/sq mi (10.4/km²).
