Bokoshe ( /b??ko???/ b?-koh-sh?) is a town in Le Flore County, Oklahoma, United States. It is part of the Fort Smith, Arkansas-Oklahoma Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 450 at the 2000 census. Bokoshe is located at 35°11?17?N 94°47?26?W? / ?35.18806°N 94.79056°W? / 35.18806; -94.79056 (35.188150, -94.790519). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.3 km2), all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 450 people, 174 households, and 121 families residing in the town. The population density was 844.4 people per square mile (327.8/kmē). There were 218 housing units at an average density of 409.1 per square mile (158.8/kmē). The racial makeup of the town was 74.00% White, 0.22% African American, 20.67% Native American, and 5.11% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.22% of the population.
