Bono is a city in Craighead County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,512 at the 2000 census. Population estimate as of 2008 was 1,599. It is included in the Jonesboro, Arkansas Metropolitan Statistical Area. Bono was incorporated in 1916. Bono is located at 35°54?38?N 90°47?48?W? / ?35.91056°N 90.79667°W? / 35.91056; -90.79667 (35.910612, -90.796788). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.4 square miles (3.6 km2), all land. Bono's most prominent landmarks are the Bono Bridge and the Bono Cemetery (vandalized in 1987). As of the census of 2000, there were 1,512 people, 574 households, and 435 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,052.5 people per square mile (405.4/kmē). There were 634 housing units at an average density of 441.3 per square mile (170.0/kmē).
