Bridport is a town in Addison County, Vermont, United States. The town was founded October 9, 1761. The population was 1,235 at the 2000 census. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 46.2 square miles (119.8 km2), of which 44.0 square miles (113.9 km2) is land and 2.3 square miles (5.9 km2) (4.89%) is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 1,235 people, 456 households, and 343 families residing in the town. The population density was 28.1 people per square mile (10.8/km2). There were 553 housing units at an average density of 12.6 per square mile (4.9/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 98.30% White, 0.24% Native American, 0.40% Asian, and 1.05% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.08% of the population.
