Brush Prairie is a census-designated place (CDP) in Clark County, Washington, United States. The population was 2,384 at the 2000 census. Based on per capita income, one of the more reliable measures of affluence, Brush Prairie ranks 57th of 522 areas in the state of Washington to be ranked. Brush Prairie is located at 45°43?44?N 122°32?32?W? / ?45.72889°N 122.54222°W? / 45.72889; -122.54222 (45.728934, -122.542143). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 7.8 square miles (20.3 kmē), all of it land. Brush Prairie was named by Elmarine Bowman, daughter of Merrit and Maddora Bowman, for a brushy prairie and swamp near her father's homestead. The Bowmans were one of the first white families to settle in the area. As of the census of 2000, there were 2,384 people, 868 households, and 671 families residing in the CDP.
