Burlington is a town in Penobscot County, Maine, United States. It is part of the Bangor, Maine Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 351 at the 2000 census. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 56.2 square miles (146 km2), of which, 53.8 square miles (139 km2) of it is land and 2.4 square miles (6.2 km2) of it (4.32%) is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 351 people, 140 households, and 100 families residing in the town. The population density was 6.5 people per square mile (2.5/kmē). There were 308 housing units at an average density of 5.7 per square mile (2.2/kmē). The racial makeup of the town was 100.00% White. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.57% of the population.
