Evansville is a town in Natrona County, Wyoming, United States. It is part of the Casper, Wyoming Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 2,255 at the 2000 census. Evansville is the location of the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery. The town was named after W.T. Evans, a blacksmith. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.6 square miles (6.8 km2), of which 2.6 square miles (6.6 km2) is land and 0.04 square mile (0.1 km2) (1.53%) is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 2,255 people, 848 households, and 561 families residing in the town. The population density was 879.7 people per square mile (340.1/km2).
