The population increased by 12.2% to 1,298 at the 2010 census. Kurtistown is located at 19°35?26?N 155°4?13?W? / ?19.59056°N 155.07028°W? / 19.59056; -155.07028 (19.590584, -155.070142). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 5.8 square miles (15 km2), all of it land. As of the census of 2010, there were 1,298 people in 476 households residing in the CDP. The population density was 223.8 people per square mile (86.5/km²). There were 532 housing units at an average density of 91.7 per square mile (35.5/km²).
